Partnership Workshop Series



The Partnership Workshop Program Series consists of five, 2-½ hour presentation and discussion, facilitated by Joe Caronna, parent of a child with hemophilia, community advocate, and founder of Inalex. The workshop sessions are led by one of the Inalex subject matter experts, and are highly participative, where mutual support and success build the participants’ confidence in their ability to manage their or their family members bleeding disorder to maintain active and fulfilling lives.
 
The 2 ½ hour session can standalone or can be combined with another function to create a full day event.
 

 
The Parents Journey 

A father and mother team, with similar and different perspectives regarding raising a child with a bleeding disorder, will facilitate a fun and interactive session.  
 
The Parents Journey will provide parents the opportunity to:
  • Meet other parents in a relaxed setting. 
  • Discuss common joys and concerns with other parents. 
  • Learn how others handle situations commonly experienced by new parents. 
  • Learn more about the implications of their child's bleeding disorder. 
  • The session will provide new parents the opportunities to build a “network of parents”. 
     


The Extended Family - A Family Affair     

A parent and extended family member team will facilitate a fun and interactive session.
 
A Family Affair will provide extended family members of a person living with a bleeding disorder the opportunity to: 
  • Meet other family members in a relaxed setting. 
  • Examine how families, both parents, and extended family members, can be affected by the bleeding disorder diagnosis. 
  • Learn why its importance for family members to support the parents of a child with a bleeding disorder. 
  • Share information and tips to help support all family members. 
  • Create a network of community support.   
     


Navigating Through the School Years     

A parent of a child with a bleeding disorder, along with a HTC Nurse will facilitate a fun and interactive session.
 
Navigating the Through the School Years will provide parents of a child with a bleeding disorder the opportunity to: 
  • Meet other parents in a relaxed setting. 
  • Discuss common fears and misconceptions of hemophilia within the school system. 
  • Identify the signs and symptoms of a bleeding disorder of an injury. 
  • Learn tips and techniques regarding how to navigate the management of the bleeding disorder through the school system. 
  • Learn how to create a “team plan” with your the HTC, and the educator to better support your child during his school years. 
     


 Transitioning Your Child to Adulthood 

A parent and transitioned teen with a bleeding disorder will facilitate a fun and interactive session.

Transitioning Your Child to Adulthood will provide parents and teens with a bleeding disorder the opportunity to:
 
  • Meet other parents and/or teens in a relaxed setting. 
  • Discuss steps necessary to achieve measures of independence for the young adult. 
  • Learn strategies for developing an effective support network for the young adult to manage his bleeding disorder. 
  • Discuss ways to maintain a healthy lifestyle during adulthood. 
  • The session will provide parents and teens the opportunities to build a network of support and information. 
     


Growth Renewal and Celebration 

An adult living with the complications of a bleeding disorder and an HTC social worker will facilitate an interactive session.

Growth, Renewal, and Celebration will provide the older members living with a bleeding disorder the opportunity to:
  • Discuss the past challenges and successes of living with a bleeding disorder. 
  • Discuss the importance of healthy aging and learn tips and techniques to do so. 
  • Celebrate the joys of personal accomplishment, family, and living life to the fullest. 
  • Renew and connect with old friends and make new relationships.
